Our Reconciliation Action Plan

At TPG Telecom, we are committed to building better futures for First Nations People and continuing our journey towards reconciliation. As a national telecommunications provider, we have an important role to play in creating equity and opportunities for First Nations People, the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we operate.

We work in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including through our work with TikaEQ, to drive meaningful, lasting change for our people, customers, and the broader community.

In 2021 we completed our first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan which supported an important level of understanding and respect for our nation’s history and culture across our workforce.

Building on this foundation, we have now completed our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (2024-2026). This phase of our journey focused on deepening relationships, strengthening cultural capability across our workforce, and developing and piloting initiatives that improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our Innovate RAP guided our actions over this period, with key focus areas including:

  • Embracing truth telling by listening to and learning from the histories and experiences of Traditional Custodians
  • Building meaningful, genuine, and reciprocal relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities
  • Recognising, respecting, and celebrating the cultures, histories, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Driving a culturally safe and inclusive workplace that removes barriers, creates opportunities and celebrates the diverse skills, perspectives and insights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities
  • Playing our part in reducing the digital divide for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Supporting economic participation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses through our procurement process

Our Annual Progress Report and Status Report detail the achievements, challenges, and learnings across the framework of relationships, respect, opportunities, and governance over 2024.

Our 2025 Annual Progress and Status Report further details our progress over 2025.

The TPG Telecom RAP Artwork ‘Listening to Land – Connecting to Country’ was produced in 2021 through TPG Telecom’s first Reflect RAP, and is about listening to how the land and Country are communicating to us and how we respond. How do you listen to the land? How do you connect with Country, how does culture play a part in your life?

Indigenous artist, Riki Salam, was born and raised in Cairns on Yidinji Land connected to the Torres Strait and Yalanji Country on his Father’s side and Ngai Tahu, South Island of New Zealand, on his Mother’s side. Riki works and produces his art in pen, ink, gouache, acrylic and using digital technologies. He enjoys exploring concepts of traditional culture in a contemporary format.
